Perfect Pale Any Time
When Santa sets off to guide his sleigh Down Under this Christmas, there’d be no better way to start the trip than to squeeze in a couple six packs of Mornington Peninsula brews between brightly wrapped presents, especially a six-pack of the Mornington Pale. While Santa might start the trip with a Mornington Free Non-Alc XPA because we need him to be focused when he’s driving, it’s the Mornington Pale, that he’d enjoy as he comes to the end of a hard day of deliveries, letting Rudolph take the reins as the guy in red cracks a can.

It’s an American-style pale ale that pours a cloudy golden yellow with a tightly packed white head. On the nose you get both citrus and passionfruit aromas, showcasing American hops which are added late in the brewing process. A light smooth palate, aided by the generous addition of wheat malts, moderate bitterness and carbonation make this a flavoursome and sessionable ale. Deliciously refreshing and easy going, this is a must-try originating from the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

If it’s a beer for when he’s knocking off and deliveries are done, then we’d have to say the Mornington Brown, we know personally that he loves that one. Mornington Peninsula Brewery has been at the forefront of craft for more than a decade and its award-winning Mornington Pale remains as one of the brewery’s core favourites since it was established in 2010. Their award-winning Mornington Brown Ale also won a silver medal in this year’s 2022 Independent Brewers Association Indie Awards.
Both their non-alcs are brewed with a unique recipe to ferment to less than 0.5% ABV, while retaining the full-bodied taste of beer. And if there is a Boxing Day barbie to be had, you can’t go past Mornington Peninsula’s new hazy pale ale the Mornington Bay Haze, with big aromas of stonefruit and citrus that blend into a juicy fruit dream, it’s sessionable and refreshing. Just the thing for a post-Christmas recovery session.
